EROAD is an international fleet management technology firm offering GPS tracking, compliance automation, and driver safety solutions to fleet operators in New Zealand, Australia, and North America. The company is enhancing its AI and analytics capabilities and is seeking a Data & AI Consultant to advance these initiatives.

Role Overview

This position combines practical data engineering responsibilities with internal consulting duties, providing coaching to business users while developing essential tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain Power BI governance and standards organization-wide, shaping the development of reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
• Develop and sustain dbt transformation pipelines that ensure reliable and accessible data.
• Create AI agents utilizing Snowflake Cortex and CoWork platforms to facilitate new automation and analytic applications.
• Promote self-service analytics by guiding business users on best practices and tool usage.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to convert their requirements into actionable data and AI solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience building reports, dashboards, and semantic models in Power BI, or familiarity with other prominent BI tools such as Looker or Tableau, with intention to become the internal Power BI expert.
• Strong command of SQL and experience working with contemporary cloud data platforms.
• Background in Snowflake and data warehousing principles, or similar modern cloud data warehouses like BigQuery, Redshift, or Synapse, combined with robust dbt experience.
• Proficient in constructing and managing dbt models and transformation pipelines.
• Skilled in succinctly explaining technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
• Excellent stakeholder management and consulting abilities.
• Experience providing coaching on analytics tools and best practices.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
