About the Role
The Qatar Technical Institute (QTI) seeks experienced Instructors/Lecturers to provide superior vocational, technical, and defence training equivalent to UK Level 3/4 and MoEHE-approved undergraduate programmes. These roles focus on developing competencies critical to the Qatar Armed Forces and related stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and deliver comprehensive theoretical, practical, laboratory, workshop, and simulation training sessions aligned with approved curricula and learning objectives.
- Utilize diverse instructional methods including demonstrations, projects, discussions, and technology-enhanced learning tools to engage students effectively.
- Supervise and ensure the safe use of specialized equipment and training resources.
- Adapt teaching styles to accommodate varied learner needs and support academic progression in vocational, technical, and military programs.
- Leverage modern digital platforms, audio-visual aids, and interactive training systems to enhance educational outcomes.
- Evaluate student performance through formative, summative, and competency-based assessments, offering timely feedback and maintaining accurate records within organisational policies and LMS platforms.
- Contribute to curriculum development, courseware refinement, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain relevance and effectiveness.
- Uphold exemplary health, safety, environmental, and security standards within training environments, ensuring disciplined and professional conduct.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with military personnel and stakeholders while respecting and aligning with military protocols and expectations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a recognized qualification at UK Level 4 or higher in relevant engineering, technical, vocational, or professional disciplines, or equivalent industry experience.
- Have at least 5 years of proven industrial or defence experience with technical competency in the relevant subject matter.
- Bring a minimum of 2 years of experience instructing technical, vocational, engineering, or defence training in structured educational settings.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital tools supporting instructional delivery and administration.
Preferred Additional Qualifications
- Possession of teaching, assessing, or instructional certifications is advantageous.
- Experience in military, defence, aerospace, or similarly regulated sectors.
- Background in curriculum or assessment development and knowledge of competency-based training and quality assurance.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems, simulation technologies, and multicultural teaching environments.
- Understanding of EASA/DSAT frameworks, professional registrations, and ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) involvement.
Subject Matter Expertise
The primary teaching focus is undergraduate-level Cybersecurity and associated fields such as programming (Java, Python), data structures, algorithms, computer architecture, operating systems, network principles, cybersecurity fundamentals, cryptography, forensic methods, SIEM tools (Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar), cloud computing, IoT security, AI and machine learning concepts, data analytics, and project work. Practical instruction in labs and workshops is required.
Secondary duties may include supporting other subjects and programs within the institute, based on qualifications, expertise, and organisational needs, with provisions for professional development as necessary.
