Job description

Role Overview

The Demand Forecast & Planning Operator is tasked with generating demand forecasts, planning inventory needs, and optimizing asset utilization. The role ensures the supply chain maintains sufficient repairable and consumable stock to meet operational demands, monitors inventory expenditure against budgets, and forecasts future spend. Also responsible for updating inventory forecasting systems and analyzing data to support forecasting accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in producing and delivering precise inventory forecasts through data analysis and scenario modeling to guide strategic decisions and determine fleet inventory needs.
  • Support enhancement and delivery of forecasting, planning, and optimization capabilities including IT infrastructure, aligned with both present and upcoming business strategies.
  • Help manage inventory by planning stock placement, monitoring item status, and ensuring product availability while balancing service quality with budget constraints.
  • Under supervision, explore alternative supply sources to minimize costs, determine appropriate asset solutions (repair, overhaul, or provision of spares), and schedule repair tasks accordingly.
  • Maintain forecasting parameters such as calculation methods and parts classification (including ABC Analysis), and handle purchase order requests within approval processes to facilitate cost-effective supply chain solutions.
  • Plan component maintenance activities ensuring compliance with maintenance programs, technical instructions, and capability implementation plans.
  • Provide required service levels to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the QEAF Typhoon Fleet receives timely and high-quality support as per business KPIs.
  • Analyze supply chain data to detect recurring issues, report findings to relevant parties, and support corrective action implementation when necessary.
  • Mentor QEAF personnel transitioning from the Qatar Technical Institute into the MOB Organisation.

Core Accountabilities

  • Meet performance indicators by effectively executing DF&P tasks, understanding their impact on Continuing Airworthiness and operational performance.
  • Ensure all DF&P processes are fully documented, maintain accurate airworthiness records, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Comply with MAI CAME procedures and standards along with other applicable company protocols, suggesting improvements where appropriate.
  • Apply Human Factors and Error Management principles to all activities; understand and manage associated risks.
  • Adhere to Governance and Assurance frameworks by supporting audits, addressing findings timely, and contributing to continuous improvements.
  • Demonstrate understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks related to Continuing Airworthiness, support implementation of regulation-driven changes, and comply with additional requirements such as ITAR, EaPW, ISO standards.
  • Ensure adherence to contract requirements through participation in contract reviews and incorporation of necessary changes into DF&P processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks and ability to integrate compliance within DF&P operations.
  • Proven ability to establish strong working relationships with customers, Part 145 organisations, order management teams, OEMs, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with platform contract terms relevant to both direct and indirect aspects impacting key performance indicators.
  • Operational and commercial insight into fleet performance and business KPIs.
  • Advocacy and promotion of a continuous improvement mindset with capability to develop and refine management reporting systems.
  • Support and contribute to the implementation of cost-effective and efficient forecasting and planning strategies.
  • Skilled in analyzing and interpreting supply chain data to identify issues and drive corrective actions as needed.
  • Experience in operational supply chain activities, process definition, improvement management, and day-to-day operations.
  • Recent relevant experience supporting maintenance or aftermarket environments.
  • Valid driving license is required.
  • Qualifications such as Institute of Supply Chain Management Level 3 or NVQ3 (or equivalent) would be advantageous but are not mandatory.
