Cyber Security Risk Analyst

Position Overview

Western Power is seeking a permanent Cyber Security Risk Analyst based in Perth to provide expert guidance in managing cyber security risks. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate critical cyber risk exposures across the organization, contributing to a secure and resilient digital environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer technical expertise to proactively manage cyber security risks by working with multiple stakeholders to identify and reduce significant exposures.
• Collaborate with internal teams to create targeted strategies for risk treatment and provide strategic cyber security advice to enable secure business operations.
• Interpret complex and evolving threat and vulnerability data into actionable strategies, ensuring the risk management approach remains strong and effective.
• Maintain and improve cyber security standards, guidelines, and processes, focusing on vulnerability management, threat profiling, and risk mitigation.
• Assist in developing impactful reports for executives and the board to inform decisions on cyber security risk projects.
• Prepare and present engaging presentations and reports that clearly communicate insights and strategies related to cyber security risks.
• Lead audit and assurance initiatives to align with cyber security goals and promote continuous enhancements.
• Conduct interactive workshops to enhance understanding and collaboration on cyber security risk management.
• Deliver regular threat briefings to asset custodians, process owners, and control owners to ensure clear awareness and effective handling of cyber security risks.

Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated experience in risk management with a firm grasp of cyber security risk frameworks and industry best practices.
• Expertise in the practical application of cyber security risk principles to identify, assess, and manage organizational risks efficiently.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to influence, advise, and work collaboratively across diverse teams.
• Proficient in leading discussions, motivating stakeholders, and fostering positive behavioral and decision-making changes.
• Possession of tertiary qualifications in risk management, cyber security, information management, or related disciplines.
