Key Responsibilities

• Support customers inside and outside the U-Haul center by answering inquiries and assisting with rental services
• Operate smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rental transactions and inventory
• Handle movement and connection of U-Haul trucks and trailers
• Conduct thorough cleaning and inspection of equipment, including fluid level checks
• Prepare rental invoices and process returned equipment
• Install vehicle hitches and wiring for trailers
• Manage propane filling (certification provided upon hire)
• Operate forklifts following certification through U-Haul
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• Participate continuously in U-Haul educational programs to enhance skills

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• High school diploma or an equivalent qualification

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

The role involves exposure to moderate safety risks which necessitate specific protective measures such as the use of masks, goggles, gloves, or other safety gear. Physical activities include remaining in position for extended periods, moving within indoor and outdoor environments, reaching for objects at different heights, and handling equipment weighing at least 50 pounds, either standalone or with assistance.

Additional Information

The company adopts a "Hire Fast, Pay Fast" policy allowing immediate start and same-day pay including participation in a paid hands-on interview. New hires are eligible for a $100 hiring incentive and an additional $300 bonus upon completing the U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification certification program.
