Customer Delivery Driver

Position Overview

Tesco Ireland is currently seeking Customer Delivery Drivers at our Mitchelstown location. This role offers the unique opportunity to be the first face our customers see and be directly involved in providing a high-quality home shopping experience. The work is active, diverse, and offers you a significant degree of autonomy throughout your shifts. Various shift patterns are offered to accommodate different schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure excellent service by prioritizing the customer in every interaction.
• Assist in loading the delivery van and conduct vehicle safety and roadworthiness checks.
• Comprehend and follow the delivery schedules and mapped routes effectively.
• Maintain a professional appearance in uniform, ready to assist customers.
• Operate the delivery vehicle safely, responsibly, and in compliance with traffic regulations.
• Show courtesy to all road users while driving.
• Greet customers warmly by name and deliver their orders with care.

Candidate Requirements

• Hold a valid full Irish or EU driving licence (manual or automatic) for a minimum of two years, with no more than three penalty points.
• Exemplify safe and courteous driving behavior.
• Display enthusiasm for helping others.
• Possess excellent communication skills, a personable attitude, and a good sense of humor.
• Be proactive, using sound judgment and common sense.
• Be motivated to make a positive impact on customers and colleagues alike.
• Remain composed and efficient under pressure.
• Applicants must pass Garda Vetting and provide current penalty points verification from the National Driver Licence Service.
• Applicants disqualified from driving within the last 10 years are ineligible.
• Successful candidates must provide bank account details prior to starting employment.
