Job Overview

As a Tesco Customer Delivery Driver based in Swansea, you will be the company’s representative during doorstep deliveries, providing more than just driving services. This position involves a hands‑on, varied, and physically engaging role where each working day differs. While much of the day requires independent work, support is readily available from managers and teammates at the home base.

Starting pay is £14.18 per hour, increasing to £15.45 in stores located within the M25. Some sites may offer additional financial incentives. A minimum guaranteed weekly schedule of 16 hours is set, with options starting from 12 hours for some roles.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and order of your delivery van, trays, and workspace to ensure customer orders arrive in perfect condition.
• Load the van carefully, conducting all necessary safety and reliability checks to guarantee roadworthiness.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding any changes to orders, substitutions, or nearing expiry items, providing friendly explanations and processing refunds when needed for a smooth experience.
• Handle groceries and products with care, treating every delivery as if it were your own to uphold quality and foster customer trust.
• Deliver orders within scheduled timeframes, offering warm and genuine service at customers’ doorsteps to ensure they feel appreciated and well-served.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Establish strong collaborative relationships with colleagues to enhance teamwork and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Display a friendly and approachable manner towards both customers and team members.
• Adapt quickly to evolving customer needs and changing situations while on the road or at the store.
• Possess a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving license (full or automatic) held for at least a year, with no more than three penalty points.
