Customer Delivery Driver - Reading

Role Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver for Tesco in Reading, you will be the face of the company for customers during home deliveries. This job involves much more than just driving; it focuses on providing exceptional customer service with a smile. Each day brings varied tasks that are hands-on and physical. You will mainly work alone during shifts but have the support of managers and teammates at the base when needed.

Work Schedule

• Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday from 7pm to 11pm

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and workspace to ensure customer orders arrive in perfect condition.
• Load the van safely and perform necessary vehicle checks to guarantee it is roadworthy and reliable.
• Communicate with customers regarding any modifications to their orders, substitutions, or near-expiry items in a friendly manner, providing refunds when appropriate to ensure a smooth customer experience.
• Handle all products with care, treating every order with personal attention to uphold quality and customer trust.
• Deliver orders within designated time slots, providing warm and approachable service at customers' doorsteps to make them feel valued.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving license (manual or automatic) held for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Be able to build strong cooperative relationships with colleagues to cultivate great team spirit and excellent customer service.
• Be friendly and welcoming in interactions with customers and co-workers.
• Adapt quickly to changing customer needs and embrace flexibility both during deliveries and at the store.
