Customer Delivery Driver - Hemsworth Superstore

Role Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver for Tesco, you will serve as the company's representative on the road, providing customers with exceptional service right at their front door. This position involves much more than simply driving; it encompasses assisting customers and delivering a friendly, reliable shopping experience. The role is physically active and varied, with each shift offering different challenges. While much of your workday is independent, you will have the ongoing support of management and team members based at the store.

Key Duties

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and workspace to ensure customers receive their orders in perfect condition.
• Safely load and inspect the delivery van to confirm it is in roadworthy condition and ready to provide excellent service.
• Communicate clearly and warmly with customers about order modifications, substitutions, or short-dated items, offering refunds as necessary to maintain a positive experience.
• Handle all products carefully, treating every order with respect to preserve quality and customer confidence.
• Deliver orders within scheduled time windows, offering courteous and genuine service at the customer's doorstep to leave a lasting positive impression.

Candidate Requirements

• Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues to foster a cooperative and effective team environment.
• A warm, approachable manner with both customers and coworkers.
• Adaptability to respond promptly to changing customer needs and the flexibility to manage variations encountered on the road and in-store.
• A valid UK, EU, or EEA driving license (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months, with a maximum of three penalty points.
