Customer Delivery Driver - Exeter Extra

About the Role

As a Customer Delivery Driver at Tesco, you will be the company’s representative on the road, delivering groceries to customers in their homes while providing exceptional service. This position involves more than just driving; it requires physical activity, attention to detail, and customer interaction. Each shift offers variety, often working independently with strong support from management and colleagues based at the store.

Availability

• Sunday: 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
• Thursday: 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your delivery van, trays, and workspace to ensure products are delivered in excellent condition.
• Load the van safely and conduct necessary checks to guarantee vehicle reliability and roadworthiness.
• Communicate clearly and positively with customers about any changes to their orders, including substitutions and short-dated items, offering refunds when appropriate to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Handle products with care to preserve quality and build customer trust.
• Deliver orders punctually within the allocated time slots, offering friendly, helpful service at the customer’s doorstep.

Candidate Requirements

• Establish positive relationships with colleagues to foster a strong team environment and deliver outstanding customer service.
• Demonstrate a warm and approachable attitude toward customers and team members alike.
• Adapt quickly to changing customer needs and embrace flexibility both on the road and at the store.
• Possess a valid UK, EU, or EEA full driving license (manual or automatic) held for at least 12 months, with no more than 3 penalty points.
