Job description

Role Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver, you are the representative of Tesco on the roads, engaging with customers at their homes daily. This position extends beyond just driving; it involves supporting people with friendly service and ensuring deliveries are handled with care and professionalism. The nature of the job is physical, varied, and demands responsibility and independence, though support from managers and colleagues is always available.

Working Hours

  • Sunday: 10:00 to 16:00
  • Monday: 09:00 to 19:00
  • Wednesday, Friday, Saturday: 18:00 to 22:00

Key Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and workspace to ensure customers receive their groceries in excellent condition.
  • Load your vehicle safely, carry out all necessary checks to confirm it is roadworthy and ready to perform deliveries effectively.
  • Communicate politely and clearly with customers regarding any alterations in orders such as substitutions or short-dated items, providing refunds as necessary to maintain a positive experience.
  • Handle all products carefully, treating each order with personal care to uphold quality and customer confidence.
  • Deliver orders promptly within the allocated time slots, offering warm and genuine customer service during doorstep interactions, leaving customers feeling appreciated.

Candidate Profile

  • Develop strong working relationships with colleagues to foster a positive team environment and provide outstanding customer service.
  • Be friendly and approachable towards both customers and team members.
  • Adapt quickly to evolving customer requirements and embrace changes both during deliveries and at the store.
  • Possess a valid UK/EU/EEA driving license (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months, with no more than three penalty points.
