Customer Delivery Driver - Coventry Extra

Role Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will represent Tesco on the roads, meeting customers directly at their homes. This position involves more than just driving—it requires delivering exceptional service with a positive attitude. The role is active and hands-on, offering a varied workday with each shift differing from the last. You will largely work independently but with a supportive managerial and colleague team available at the store for assistance.

Work Schedule

• Sunday: 08:00 to 19:30
• Monday: 14:00 to 23:00
• Wednesday: 07:00 to 20:00
• Friday: 07:00 to 20:00

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and workspace to ensure deliveries arrive in excellent condition.
• Safely load the van and perform all necessary inspections to guarantee the vehicle is safe, reliable, and prepared for service.
• Communicate courteously with customers about any order changes, substitutions, or near-expiry products, including handling refunds to maintain smooth experiences.
• Handle all goods carefully, treating each order as your own to uphold quality and customer confidence.
• Deliver within scheduled time slots, providing friendly service at customers’ doorsteps to ensure they feel valued.

Candidate Requirements

• Establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues to foster teamwork and enhance customer service.
• Exhibit a warm, welcoming demeanor toward customers and team members alike.
• Adapt quickly to customer demand changes and operational updates both on the road and in-store.
• Possess a full UK, EU, or EEA driving license held for a minimum of 12 months with no more than three penalty points.
