Job description
Role Overview
Join our team as a Customer Delivery Driver, playing a key role in delivering high-quality Waitrose products alongside excellent customer service straight to our customers' homes. When not on delivery routes, you will assist in-store with stock replenishing and maintaining cleanliness, contributing to a smooth and friendly shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and review daily delivery routes starting from the store.
- Load and organize your delivery van ensuring all orders are accurate and efficiently arranged for customer drop-offs.
- Conduct comprehensive safety checks on the delivery vehicle to maintain compliance with road and health and safety regulations.
- Represent the Waitrose brand positively on the road by prioritizing exceptional customer service.
- Engage customers by assisting with their shopping and building trustworthy relationships.
- Support the retail team with routine shopkeeping duties as needed.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a full, valid UK Category B manual driving licence with no more than six penalty points.
- Strong customer service capabilities.
- Effective time management skills to meet delivery schedules.
- Physical ability to handle the demands of the role, such as lifting crates and moving cages.
- Self-motivated and adaptable, capable of working independently.
- Basic IT proficiency.
- Previous driving experience and knowledge of refrigerated vehicles are beneficial but not compulsory.
