About the Role
At Lidl, everyone from Head Office to the shop floor works together to create an outstanding shopping experience for customers. We are looking for Customer Assistants who are energetic, customer-focused, and eager to learn daily. The position offers a weekly wage starting at €460+ based on a standard 30-hour contract. You will be exposed to various shift patterns, diverse tasks, and a collaborative working environment.
Shift Patterns
- Morning shift: Starting at 5 or 6 am, your main tasks include stocking award-winning products on the shop floor and preparing bakery items to welcome customers by opening time.
- Middle shift: Beginning mid-morning or early afternoon, your duties involve maintaining cleanliness and excellent product presentation within the store, ensuring freshness, assisting customers, and managing tills efficiently to reduce queues.
- Late shift: From the afternoon start, you will focus on delivering excellent customer service at the tills, restocking items, and preparing the store for the following day.
Main Responsibilities
- Engage with customers in a courteous, friendly, and helpful way.
- Adhere to stock loss control measures throughout the store.
- Maintain high standards of store and external cleanliness and hygiene.
- Apply freshness and stock rotation principles rigorously.
- Manage waste disposal appropriately.
- Support stock count procedures.
Eligibility & Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older due to alcohol sales responsibilities.
- Possess a positive attitude with excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrate reliability and responsibility.
- Enjoy working in a fast-changing and diverse environment.
- Be an effective team player.
- Previous customer-facing experience is preferred but not mandatory given the right mindset.
Compensation and Benefits
Lidl offers a transparent, competitive salary framework ensuring equitable pay for all roles. Hourly rates start at €15.40, increasing up to €17.90 after three years, with additional supplementary rates for unsocial hours, overtime, Sundays, and bank holidays.
- Base pay progression from €15.40 (year 1) up to €17.90 (year 4).
- Unsocial hours rate ranging from €19.25 to €22.38.
- Overtime and Sunday pay from €23.10 to €26.85.
- Bank Holiday pay between €30.80 and €35.80.
