Position Overview

The Crewing Coordinator role is integral to our operations team based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. This position demands expert-level knowledge of marine certification, adherence to STCW standards, flag state directives, and coordination of offshore personnel mobilization. Beyond administrative duties, the role requires a thorough grasp of vessel compliance and the certification frameworks necessary to deploy marine and offshore teams safely and within regulatory standards globally.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage and update crew certification records and competency matrices consistently.
• Ensure that all crew members meet the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) requirements.
• Deeply understand mandatory STCW certifications, Certificate of Competency structures, endorsements, revalidations, and flag state criteria.
• Validate crew qualifications considering vessel type, client needs, flag regulations, project scope, and operational zones.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of significant flag state regulations and marine compliance frameworks.
• Oversee compliance with flag state, port state, client-specific marine procedures, and international maritime standards to ensure audit readiness.
• Monitor certificate expiration proactively; schedule and coordinate training, assessments, medical examinations, and renewals ahead of deadlines.
• Engage with certified maritime training providers and maintain accurate digital records within crew certification databases.
• Coordinate offshore crew mobilizations, rotations, and logistics ensuring qualified staffing of vessels and projects.
• Collaborate effectively with crew members, operations, clients, and vessel representatives to manage mobilization requirements including travel, visas, accommodation, medicals, and onboarding documents.

Experience & Knowledge Required

• At least 3 to 5 years' expertise in marine crewing, offshore personnel coordination, or marine operations support.
• Demonstrated capability in managing offshore or vessel-based personnel internationally.
• Prior exposure to offshore, subsea, marine, or energy sectors is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers and certification systems.
• Fluency with flag state compliance, marine/offshore personnel mobilization processes, and certificate validity and revalidation protocols.
• Knowledge of offshore-specific certifications such as BOSIET, HUET, and OGUK Medical.
• Familiarity with marine ranks, vessel operations, and crew competency hierarchies.

• Knowledge of classification society guidelines and client marine compliance requirements.
