About the Role
Our client, a well-established and expanding financial services firm, is seeking a skilled Credit & Underwriting Manager to head a dynamic credit and underwriting team based in South Kerry. This full-time, permanent position offers a fantastic chance for a seasoned leader from a banking, lending, financial services, or regulated sector to contribute to a growing organization.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee, lead, and develop the credit and underwriting team to meet high operational standards.
- Ensure objectives and service level targets are consistently achieved.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to enhance team members' performance and growth.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, internal procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Track and manage workflow, productivity, and quality assurance within the team.
- Identify and implement process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Collaborate closely with senior management on governance, reporting, and risk-related matters.
- Contribute to policy, control, and best practice development and execution.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Promote a customer-centric approach while upholding strong risk management and compliance principles.
Candidate Profile
- Experienced in managing teams within banking, financial services, lending, credit risk, or other regulated fields.
- Demonstrated people leadership skills focused on nurturing and developing team capabilities.
- Thorough knowledge of governance, compliance standards, policies, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven ability to operate efficiently in fast-paced, operational settings.
- Strong analytical skills coupled with sound decision-making and problem-solving aptitude.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Experience in underwriting, lending, or credit operations is favorable but not mandatory.
- Skilled in systems usage, reporting, and driving process enhancements.
- A balanced mindset that considers customer service, business goals, and risk mitigation.
- Adopts a proactive, hands-on management approach.
