The Team

The Credit team safeguards Stripe by overseeing credit risk for its largest and most complex clients. Utilizing underwriting expertise combined with data-driven risk assessments, the team makes informed decisions throughout the customer lifecycle to support Stripe's growth by managing high-exposure portfolios carefully.

Job Responsibilities

• Engage directly with major merchants, including venture-backed startups and established organizations, to assess their financial health and business models.
• Deliver customized credit risk evaluations that both limit Stripe's exposure and enable partner growth.
• Manage a client portfolio by gaining profound insight into credit risks across diverse sectors, regions, and business types.
• Provide comprehensive analysis to assist leadership in strategic decisions such as onboarding and pricing frameworks.
• Contribute to enhancing the team's methodologies and tools to meet credit performance metrics like credit loss limits and portfolio coverage.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners globally to support merchant success.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of three years of experience in commercial credit underwriting, financial risk analysis, and forecasting cash flows.
• A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related disciplines.
• Strong foundation in accounting with expertise in reviewing financial reports and business structures across various industries.
• Capability to synthesize financial and business data into clear risk narratives with actionable mitigation strategies.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills with high attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
• Confidence in engaging with senior executives such as CFOs and CEOs of leading merchant clients.
• Empathetic mindset toward entrepreneurs and motivation to empower businesses through problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced technical skills, including proficiency in SQL.

Work Environment

Employees based in Dublin are expected to work primarily onsite, with a minimum of 50% monthly office presence, which may vary by role and team demands.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position in Dublin is €71,200 to €106,800, subject to adjustment based on location and candidate specifics. This range may cover various career levels and will be refined during the interview process. Benefits may include equity, bonuses, retirement plans, health coverage, and wellness allowances.
