Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to lead classrooms across secondary schools in Bristol. This full-time, term-time only position offers a rewarding opportunity to manage students without the responsibilities of lesson planning or marking. Ideal for those wanting a balanced work-life schedule, this role provides competitive daily pay and a supportive environment where you contribute directly to effective learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and facilitate pre-prepared lessons for KS3 and KS4 students across multiple subjects, ensuring students remain focused and engaged.
- Maintain a calm, orderly, and secure classroom environment through strong leadership and behavior management skills.
- Communicate effectively with teaching staff by providing clear feedback on student progress and conduct during cover sessions.
- Uphold school values and safeguarding protocols consistently while serving as a professional role model.
Candidate Profile
The role prioritizes transferable interpersonal skills and professional character rather than specific academic qualifications:
- Exhibit confidence and command respect to manage groups of approximately 30 students effectively.
- Adapt flexibly to different subjects and teaching styles, demonstrating a positive, can-do mindset.
- Display resilience and professionalism in handling classroom challenges and unexpected situations.
- Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check and maintain a strong commitment to safeguarding standards.
Compensation and Schedule
- Salary ranges between GBP 90 to GBP 120 per day, with weekly payments disbursed every Friday through Randstad.
- Position available immediately or from the next academic term.
- Work hours correspond with standard school hours, with no requirements for lesson planning, marking, or after-school meetings, promoting excellent work-life balance.
