About Arthur Terry School

Arthur Terry School seeks a committed and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join its supportive and driven team. This role is crucial in ensuring that students remain on track academically during their regular teacher's absence by supervising classes and fostering a productive learning setting.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee classes when the usual teacher is unavailable, ensuring students complete assigned tasks.
  • Maintain a calm, positive, and purposeful classroom environment.
  • Give clear guidance to students to help them work independently.
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with school policies and expectations.
  • Keep track of student participation and progress, providing relevant feedback to teaching staff.
  • Collaborate with teachers, pastoral teams, and colleagues to support students' academic success and wellbeing.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience working with young people in educational or comparable environments.
  • Holds high standards for student behavior, engagement, and success.
  • Ability to build professional and positive relationships with students.
  • Confidence in managing groups of students and sustaining an effective learning atmosphere.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to follow lesson plans accurately.
