Job description

About GOAL 3

GOAL 3 is an international health social enterprise dedicated to enhancing healthcare delivery in resource-limited settings through innovative technology. Its IMPALA patient monitoring platform aids healthcare workers in early detection of patient deterioration, reduces workload, and improves clinical outcomes. Deployments of IMPALA have shown a reduction in pediatric mortality by 40-51% and neonatal mortality by 27-35%, while also lowering monitoring time by 45%. Operating in over 50 hospitals across 6 East African countries, GOAL 3 continues to grow its positive impact.

Role Overview

As the Country Manager for Kenya, you will be pivotal in expanding GOAL 3's footprint and influence within the country. Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and based in Nairobi, you will spearhead commercial growth, foster strategic partnerships, and lead the operational execution of the IMPALA platform nationwide. This leadership role demands a balance between strategic planning, relationship cultivation, and hands-on implementation, ensuring sustainable expansion and integration of the technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive commercial expansion and oversee all country-level operations, aligning local objectives with organizational strategies.
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with hospitals, county governments, Ministry of Health, distributors, and other healthcare stakeholders.
  • Source and advance new business, partnership, and funding avenues to support sustainable adoption of IMPALA by hospitals and governmental bodies.
  • Manage customer interactions to promote long-term platform adoption, collaborating with clinical leadership and teams for seamless integration into routine healthcare services.
  • Ensure high-quality implementation of IMPALA across Kenya by coordinating with clinical, technical, service, distributor, and hospital teams.
  • Navigate the intricacies of Kenya's healthcare procurement, regulatory framework, and financing environment to guide opportunities from interest to scale.
  • Establish robust local operational systems and processes as the organization's Kenyan presence expands.
  • Build and lead a multidisciplinary team in Kenya while maintaining close coordination with international GOAL 3 teams across clinical, technical, commercial, and operational domains.
  • Monitor and evaluate country performance, implementation progress, and emerging opportunities to refine strategy continuously.
  • Represent GOAL 3 at key meetings, technical working groups, conferences, and other relevant sector forums across Kenya.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, healthcare management, business, medicine, nursing, biomedical engineering, or a related area.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in healthcare, medical technology, digital health, or related sectors within Kenya.
  • A broad professional network including hospitals, government entities, NGOs, or private healthcare stakeholders.
  • Proven experience managing partnerships, customer relations, programs, or commercial activities.
  • Strong skills in commercial operations, relationship building, and stakeholder management.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, projects, or operations.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset suitable for a rapidly growing organization.
  • Fluent English communication skills; proficiency in Swahili is highly desirable.
  • Legal authorization to work in Kenya and willingness to travel within the country regularly.

Preferred Additional Experience

  • Knowledge of medical devices, digital health platforms, or healthcare technologies.
  • Experience with public sector procurement, health financing, or government engagement.
  • Exposure to maternal, newborn, child health, emergency, or critical care sectors.
  • Skills in distributor management, customer success, or healthcare service delivery.
  • Experience establishing or expanding country operations in healthcare organizations.

Compensation and Benefits

The role offers a competitive gross monthly salary range between KSh 300,000 and 700,000, dependent on experience. Additional benefits and a collaborative, mission-driven work culture within a global health social enterprise are provided. This is an excellent opportunity for professional development with increasing responsibilities as GOAL 3 scales across the region.

Additional Information

The application deadline is 15 September 2026. GOAL 3 is committed to equal opportunity employment and encourages applications from qualified individuals of diverse backgrounds. The position requires close coordination with international teams and regular travel throughout Kenya.
