Role Overview
The Corporate Banking Associate role at Citi represents an intermediate-level position within the Corporate Bank. The individual in this role will be responsible for delivering relationship management services, advising on capital structure, and providing corporate finance expertise to clients.
This position operates within a highly prestigious team holding a dominant position in Ireland's banking market, with Citi maintaining a 20% share in episodic financing and advisory transactions since 2020 and securing Euromoney’s Best Investment Bank in Ireland award for seven consecutive years.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior bankers in identifying and originating business opportunities across corporate, financial institutions, and public sector clients; collaborate closely with teams from Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Treasury & Trade Solutions, and Markets.
- Support cross-selling efforts by recognizing client needs and pitching the comprehensive suite of Citi products and services to boost revenue generation.
- Create high-quality client presentations and analyses focusing on corporate finance, capital structuring, and optimal financing strategies.
- Analyze public documents, research reports, operational data, business plans, and financial forecasts to deliver strategic and financial insights.
- Maintain updated awareness of market trends, industry best practices, and competitive dynamics.
- Evaluate risks prudently, ensuring firm reputation and compliance with laws, policies, and ethical standards, while safeguarding Citi, its clients, and assets.
- Assist with daily cash management tasks, support trading initiatives, vendor finance, foreign exchange transactions, loan dealings, debt capital markets activities, share repurchases, and interest rate/equity derivatives management.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Strong foundation in corporate finance, with insight into capital structure determinants.
- Proficiency in financial modelling, credit analysis, and overall financial assessment.
- Experience thriving in dynamic, fast-paced environments with proven multitasking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills demonstrated consistently.
- Preferred prior experience in corporate banking, investment banking, corporate finance, or capital markets roles.
- Advanced education such as an MBA or Master’s degree in Business is desirable.
- Sound knowledge of credit evaluation and Citi’s credit policies.
- Relevant professional experience ranging generally from 2 to 6 years in areas including Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Credit, Leveraged Finance, or Commercial Banking.
Educational Requirements
A Bachelor’s or University degree or equivalent experience is required.

This position is designated as a “Controlled Function” under the Central Bank of Ireland Reform Act 2010 and related amendments.
Additional Information
This role is part of the Institutional Banking family group and the Corporate Banking job family. It is a full-time, onsite position based in Dublin, Ireland.
The salary range for this position is from €120,000 to €135,000 annually.
