About the Role
As a Core Java Developer reporting to the Senior Director of Software Engineering, you will be instrumental in creating and deploying software solutions powering Nasdaq's Eqlipse trading platform. This role involves supporting clients across the Asia-Pacific region and collaborating with teams worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver software components within the Trading Engineering group supporting the Eqlipse platform.
- Provide ongoing support to APAC clients, ensuring software meets high benchmarks in reliability, performance, and quality.
- Work in close partnership with both Sydney-based colleagues and global Nasdaq teams to synchronize goals and outputs.
- Enhance and maintain codebases, ensuring adherence to engineering best practices.
- Coordinate activities across different time zones, including occasional work beyond usual hours when required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related disciplines.
- Proficiency in Java programming along with build tools like Maven and version control using Git.
- Familiarity with Linux environments and shell scripting skills.
- Strong command of English for professional communication, both spoken and written.
- Capability to operate effectively within a hybrid work setting and collaborate across international time zones.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in developing and deploying containerized applications.
- Knowledge of financial exchange protocols including FIX, ITCH, or OUCH.
- Background in working with global teams in financial technology sectors.
Additional Information
This role is based in Sydney, Australia, with a hybrid working arrangement requiring at least two days per week onsite. Candidates must be Australian citizens or permanent residents.
