Role Overview
As a Delivery Driver based at the UGA store in Athens, GA, you'll be the key representative delivering the "Cookie Magic" directly to customers within a small, active delivery zone. This role involves safe, prompt delivery of cookies, milk, and ice cream, along with providing friendly customer service both in-person and via phone.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify accuracy and quality of orders prior to leaving the store.
- Deliver orders promptly and safely to customers within a 2-mile range using GPS and delivery technology.
- Engage positively and professionally with customers in-person and over the phone to ensure excellent service.
- Assist in bakery duties such as baking, packaging, organizing orders, operating the register, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Communicate effectively with the team to ensure smooth operations and speedy service.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Possess a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, current vehicle insurance, and reliable, insured vehicle.
- Smartphone with a data plan capable of running delivery apps.
- Must be able to pass a motor vehicle background check.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Availability during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays to meet peak business needs.
Physical and Work Environment
- Ability to drive safely for extended periods and frequently enter and exit the vehicle.
- Standing and walking for long durations inside the bakery.
- Capacity to lift and carry bakery orders up to 30 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds with help.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions during deliveries and around bakery equipment indoors.
- Effectively communicate with customers and team members in a lively bakery environment.
