Cook III - Full Time

Position Overview

As a Cook III at Marriott International in Halifax, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients such as chopping, portioning, and storing various foods, including washing and peeling fresh produce. Your duties include measuring, mixing ingredients, and cooking food according to established recipes and quality standards, utilizing kitchen equipment like ovens, grills, stoves, microwaves, and fryers. You'll also prepare cold dishes, test cooking doneness, monitor food quality throughout preparation, and manage your workstation setup and cleanup.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare food according to recipes and quality/presentation standards.
• Operate various kitchen appliances safely and effectively.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen tools, equipment, and surroundings.
• Serve food in appropriate portions and on designated receptacles.
• Monitor temperatures of appliances and food to ensure safety standards.
• Follow all company policies including safety, security, and confidentiality.
• Communicate professionally and collaborate with team members to meet goals.
• Physically handle kitchen demands including standing for long periods and lifting objects up to 25 pounds.
• Assist with additional reasonable tasks as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in related food preparation or cooking roles.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No licenses or certifications required.
