Job Overview

As a Cook at W Hotels located in Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients and cooking food that meets established quality and presentation standards. Your duties include handling fresh produce, weighing and mixing components, and cooking using various kitchen appliances. Ensuring food safety and quality throughout preparation and serving will be key. Additionally, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of the work area and kitchen equipment is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, such as chopping and storing food items properly.
• Clean and peel fresh fruits and vegetables for cooking.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients following recipes and food preparation guidelines.
• Cook food using ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, testing for correct cooking levels.
• Prepare cold dishes as needed and serve food in appropriate portions and containers.
• Set up and dismantle your workstation efficiently each shift.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen tools, knives, equipment, and surfaces regularly.
• Monitor appliance and food temperatures to ensure compliance with standards.
• Follow all safety and security procedures; report any unsafe conditions or accidents to management.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality; communicate clearly and cooperate with team members.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing or walking for extended periods and lifting loads up to 25 pounds.
• Carry out other reasonable job duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a related cooking role is preferred.
• No supervisory experience necessary.
• No specific certifications or licenses required.
