We are currently recruiting two Continuous Improvement Officers based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. This role entails overseeing daily operations, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures, and supporting business objectives through operational monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce cash safety procedures including safe opening/closing, locking admin doors, float issuance, cash handling, bank preparation, and cash transit.
• Report irregularities such as negligent cash storage, security procedure violations, late branch openings/closings, cleanliness issues, unauthorized mobile phone use during shifts, and deviations in health and safety standards.
• Verify patron headcounts, marketing promotions presence, and conduct surveillance on internal audits and compliance audits.
• Identify maintenance needs related to fixtures, fittings, furniture, or equipment.
• Detect inefficiencies in customer service, including absence of floor walks by team leaders and long queues.
• Observe staff behavior for unproductive time use, improper rostering, tardiness, improper uniform adherence, and misuse of company property.
• Assist support departments, area and regional managers with investigations requiring CCTV review concerning betting queries or suspicious activities.
• Identify unauthorized persons in restricted areas and terminals left logged on with cash unattended.
• Ensure proper functioning of facial recognition cameras and report maintenance needs.
• Collaborate with operations and commercial managers and other department heads to resolve issues.
• Participate in task teams for incident resolution and implement continuous improvement solutions.
• Conduct real-time monitoring of online deposits and withdrawals to improve operational efficiency and customer service.
• Review operational policies and procedures and recommend amendments based on findings.
• Analyze clerk productivity and branch profitability reports to prioritize focus areas and monitor resolution outcomes.
• Manage projects from problem identification through to the implementation of solutions within the operations team.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Possesses 2 to 3 years of experience in a retail operations environment.
• Availability to work both day and night shifts.
• Proficient in computer skills, particularly MS Office applications.
• Has completed or is pursuing a relevant certificate, diploma, or degree (considered advantageous).
