Job description
Team Overview
This role is part of a team dedicated to algorithm optimization and collaboration with business units, focused on overseeing quality and governance across e-commerce products. Key responsibilities include mitigating risks, addressing violations and low-quality content, and enhancing the e-commerce ecosystem. The team also pursues advanced AI technologies to transform business operations, working in areas such as natural language processing (NLP), computer vision (CV), multimodal models, large-scale models, graph algorithms, and sequence algorithms.
Role Responsibilities
- Design and develop large language models (LLMs/MLLMs) tailored to the e-commerce domain, integrating domain expertise to enable rapid application of models in various business contexts.
- Deeply analyze e-commerce governance challenges to enhance the oversight of merchants, products, videos, live-streaming, and intellectual property rights (IPR) using algorithmic improvements. Build sophisticated intelligent review systems that provide transparent rejection rationale.
- Improve model performance by engaging in data curation, foundational model refinement, instruction fine-tuning, chain-of-thought (CoT) reasoning, and parameter-efficient fine-tuning (PEFT) techniques within the e-commerce specialties.
- Apply large models and multimodal strategies to tackle problems such as managing long sequences of text, few-shot learning, content moderation, violation identification, and policy recommendation.
- Research, develop, and optimize NLP and multimodal large-scale models focused on multilingual, multi-task, and multi-modal applications suited for various e-commerce scenarios.
Required Qualifications
- Recent or soon-to-be graduate with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar technical fields.
- Strong programming capabilities combined with robust understanding of data structures and algorithms and experience with multiple algorithmic and engineering frameworks.
- Deep knowledge in machine learning fundamentals, including experience or research in areas such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, NLP, or multimodal learning.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate closely with teams to explore emerging technologies and foster technical innovation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Published research in prominent international conferences or journals (e.g., ACL, EMNLP, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR) is advantageous.
- Demonstrated strong practical expertise, evidenced by achievements in competitions such as Kaggle, GLUE, Super GLUE, or CLUE.
