Consumables Department Manager

Position Overview

The Consumables Department Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the department by coordinating team activities to ensure an excellent shopping experience. This role includes maintaining a fully stocked and well-organized sales floor, guiding associates through task assignments using handheld devices, and supporting customers' purchasing decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver professional, welcoming customer service including greeting shoppers, assisting in product selection, promoting merchandise and services, locating items, and resolving concerns.
• Manage and ensure completion of daily tasks related to customer availability, such as section maintenance, bin capping, and stock replenishment.
• Assist with executing price changes, updating feature displays, and maintaining modular setups to ensure pricing accuracy and merchandising standards.
• Oversee sales floor coverage and support recovery and zoning efforts to keep the department presentable and customer-ready.
• Coordinate associate break schedules to maintain sufficient floor coverage.
• Provide training, development, and continuous feedback to associates to enhance their performance and engagement.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and compliance by conducting safety checks, adhering to company policies, and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure and debris-free.
• Adapt to varied schedules including evening, weekend, and holiday shifts to meet business demands.

Challenges of the Role

• Manage a high volume of tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during overnight hours, maintaining energy and focus throughout shifts.
• Physically demanding tasks such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting items up to 50 lbs., along with repetitive stocking and zoning duties requiring attention to detail.

Compensation

The starting hourly rate for this position is $18.50.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must be at least 16 years old.
