Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Construction Surveyor who will engage in comprehensive construction surveying tasks, including quantity take-offs, site setup, instrument calibration, construction layout, and the preparation of as-builts and final quantity reports. Candidates should demonstrate a positive, proactive mindset and a willingness to undertake occasional non-survey related duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately perform quantity takeoffs, reviews, and reconciliations.
  • Conduct preliminary, construction phase, and as-built surveys.
  • Interpret design drawings and develop effective survey strategies.
  • Maintain precise survey notes, sketches, and data archives.
  • Install stake lines and establish survey control points with accuracy.
  • Distribute survey reports and manage survey data efficiently.
  • Collaborate with site superintendents to fulfill field survey requests and measurements.
  • Setup and configure survey instruments, including grade control machines.
  • Carry out topographic surveys to monitor construction progress.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience in surveying.
  • Strong knowledge of GPS, machine control technologies, total stations, and electronic data collection methods.
  • Familiarity with CAD and survey software is desirable.
  • Experience working with Trimble GPS, total stations, and Trimble equipment is advantageous.
  • Proficient in designing and implementing digital terrain models.
  • Experience using Trimble Business Centre, TCC, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of LiDAR technology is a plus.
  • Excellent critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving abstract.
