Job description
Role Overview
The Construction Estimator will be instrumental in delivering precise cost projections for ground-up construction projects, focusing on multifamily residences, hospitality venues, and higher education facilities. The position is designed to ensure projects stay on course financially and are executed efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for construction initiatives.
- Examine project specifications and drawings to assess the requirements for materials, labor, and equipment expenses.
- Work closely with project managers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing details.
- Monitor project expenditures and provide consistent updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Identify potential project risks and propose strategies to avoid exceeding budget limits.
- Stay informed about current market pricing and trends in construction.
- Contribute to contract negotiations and the procurement of materials.
- Assist the team in creating value-engineering ideas to optimize costs.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in compiling cost estimates for construction projects.
- Strong analytical capabilities and adept at problem resolution.
- Proficient in interpreting construction plans and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with construction materials, methodologies, and prevailing market prices.
- Effective collaboration skills with project teams and external subcontractors.
- Keen attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy.
