Role Overview
As part of the Commercial Strategy team, the Conference & Events Coordinator ensures smooth handovers between Sales and Operations, facilitating flawless planning and execution of conferences, events, catering, and group bookings. Although not responsible for generating leads, the coordinator maintains direct client communication during planning, execution, and post-event review phases. Reporting to the Director of Conference & Events, the role supports the sales team proactively once contracts are signed.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Commercial Strategy team with ongoing tasks and broader department duties as needed.
- Maintain high grooming and appearance standards reflecting professionalism and care aligned with Mandarin Oriental’s brand image.
- Ensure adherence to the department’s established conference and event sales administration, client recordkeeping, and tracking systems.
- Deliver prompt and effective customer service within operational capabilities to meet client needs.
- Manage an organized and comprehensive filing system.
- Generate required reports promptly within designated deadlines.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Motivated, confident, professional, and humble demeanor.
- Completion of senior secondary education.
- Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality, Hotel, or Business Management.
- Previous experience working in the GCC region is considered a plus.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in various software applications.
