Compliance Specialist

Job Purpose

The Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting the creation and execution of the organization's compliance framework by ensuring departmental adherence to pertinent laws, regulations, and internal standards. This role also assists in managing compliance-related risks to safeguard the company from legal, regulatory, and operational challenges while promoting a robust culture of governance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee compliance of various departments with government regulations, laws, and internal policies; prepare regular compliance reports.
• Assist in the development and updating of compliance policies and procedures, aligning them with regulatory mandates and industry best practices.
• Perform periodic compliance audits to evaluate departmental adherence, documenting any violations or discrepancies.
• Support the process of identifying and assessing compliance risks and suggest suitable corrective action plans.
• Help deliver internal training and awareness programs on compliance and governance for staff members.
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the business and evaluate their implications on company policies.
• Collaborate with Legal, Internal Audit, and Risk Management teams to ensure integrated governance and compliance efforts.
• Engage in investigations relating to breaches of policies or regulations; record findings and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Create and maintain compliance KPIs and dashboards, reporting outcomes to senior management periodically.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in law, business administration, accounting, or a related discipline.
• At least two years of hands-on experience in compliance-related roles.
• Preferred possession of professional certifications such as CCEP, CRMA, or equivalent credentials.
• Strong familiarity with relevant laws and regulatory requirements applicable to the company's industry.
• Proficient in both Arabic and English languages, including spoken and written communication.

• Meticulous attention to detail combined with a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate effectively across various departments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) software considered an advantage.
• Ability to perform well under pressure and juggle multiple tasks efficiently.
