The ideal candidate will have deep understanding of Ghana’s financial regulatory environment, keen analytical skills, and dedication to fostering a culture of compliance across the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Keep abreast of emerging regulatory risks including cybersecurity, consumer protection changes, and integrate updates into the risk framework.
  • Investigate compliance breaches including customer complaints on unfair lending or data misuse, compiling detailed incident reports with corrective measures.
  • Lead policy implementation across departments, ensuring staff awareness and adherence, and deliver regular targeted compliance training programs.
  • Develop educational materials such as presentations and workshops covering regulatory guidelines and anti-money laundering obligations.
  • Monitor and ensure staff training completion and understanding, arranging refresher sessions as needed.
  • Prepare and submit timely, accurate regulatory documentation to relevant authorities including compliance reports and breach notifications.
  • Act as primary contact during regulatory audits, coordinating preparations and prompt responses.
  • Maintain productive relationships with regulators and industry groups to stay informed and represent company interests.
  • Ensure full compliance with consumer protection guidelines, reviewing all customer-facing documents for transparency and clarity on loan terms.
  • Monitor customer feedback to identify potential issues, resolving complaints with relevant teams and implementing improvements.
  • Foster organizational commitment to ethical lending and customer respect.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration or similar; a Master’s degree (LLM) or relevant certifications like CCEP or CAMS is advantageous.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of compliance experience in Ghana’s financial services sector, preferably digital lending, microfinance, or fintech.
  • Thorough knowledge of Ghanaian financial laws including Bank of Ghana regulations, Data Protection Act, AML, and Consumer Protection Act.
  • Experienced in compliance audits, risk assessments, and regulatory reporting with strong audit report writing skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to clarify compliance for diverse audiences and report to senior management.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure regulatory adherence and manage risk.
