Job description

Position Summary

This role involves installing, configuring, managing, maintaining, testing, evaluating, and repairing computer networks, workstations, and related hardware/software. It supports server systems, manages user accounts, and oversees computer and telephone room environments. The specialist will provide user training on proper system usage and security measures.

Key duties include troubleshooting and resolving technical problems related to computer hardware/software, LAN/WAN networks, and internet connectivity. They will respond to software error messages, provide network communication support, and escalate major issues to vendors or specialized technicians. The role requires assessing and consulting on computing needs and system requirements, as well as recommending and implementing process improvements.

Tasks further include inspecting, testing, diagnosing computer equipment, planning and coordinating IT-related installations, changes, and upgrades, and implementing network security measures. The specialist provides end-user application support, manages network disk space efficiently, and maintains an accurate inventory of all technological devices. Safe handling and storage of backup tapes is mandatory.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, report unsafe conditions, accidents, and injuries promptly.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and safeguard company assets.
  • Deliver excellent guest service and assist colleagues as needed.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, including telephone etiquette.
  • Act as a role model and first point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy.
  • Foster positive working relationships and support team goals.
  • Ensure quality standards and seek opportunities to improve organizational efficiency, productivity, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Perform physical tasks including moving objects up to 50 pounds, standing, sitting or walking for prolonged periods, using computers and POS systems, and navigating stairs or ramps.
  • Accept and execute additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
  • A minimum of two years related professional experience.
  • No supervisory experience required.
  • No specific licenses or certifications necessary.
