Desktop Support Engineer

Job Overview

This role involves hands-on responsibilities related to assembling custom personal computers, setting up and configuring hardware components such as CPU, RAM, and motherboards. You will also be responsible for the deployment of workstations including monitors, docking stations, and organizing cables effectively for a clean setup.

Key Duties

• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware problems including issues like overheating, malfunctioning power supplies, and system errors such as Blue Screen of Death.
• Conduct maintenance tasks including hardware upgrades such as SSD and RAM enhancements and keep BIOS and firmware updated.
• Manage hardware assets by accurately tracking serial numbers and warranty details to maintain proper inventory records.
• Perform operating system imaging, ensuring Windows installations are configured properly at the hardware level.

Technical Expertise Required

• Comprehensive understanding of PC hardware architecture and interactions between components.
• Skillful use of diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, thermal sensors, and stress-testing software to evaluate system health.
• Mastery of Windows 10 and 11 operating systems along with Microsoft Office software suites.
• Capability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues related to physical elements including cabling, network interface cards, and wireless adapters.
