Commissioning Engineer - Offshore

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer specializing in offshore projects to join our team in Doha, Qatar. The role is within the EPIC (Engineering, Procurement, Installation & Commissioning) segment of the Oil & Gas offshore industry, focusing on projects like wellhead jackets and platform commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage commissioning activities for large-scale industrial EPC/EPIC oil & gas or power generation projects.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and all regulatory mandates throughout commissioning phases.
• Lead the preparation of commissioning engineering documentation and method statements necessary for comprehensive project execution.
• Coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning efforts across multidisciplinary teams.
• Review engineering deliverables, focusing on operability and interface requirements to ensure seamless system integration.
• Utilize ICAPS/winPCS completion management tools to monitor and drive mechanical completion toward successful facility handover.
• Identify issues swiftly during commissioning and implement effective solutions to mitigate risks.
• Manage project timelines, progress tracking, and ensure delivery of commissioning milestones within budget.
• Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards for safe commissioning practices.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 12 years overall experience in commissioning engineering with at least 3 years specifically on offshore projects such as wellhead jackets.
• Extensive technical understanding of commissioning processes, equipment, and regulatory requirements within offshore oil & gas environments.
• Proficiency in dossier preparation to facilitate smooth facility handover.
• Strong problem-solving acumen and decision-making capabilities during commissioning phases.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and suppliers.
• Demonstrated project management expertise in planning, budget management, and cost control for commissioning initiatives.
• Keen attention to detail ensuring compliance with specifications, quality, safety, and operational standards.
• Robust risk management skills related to commissioning activities.
• Comprehensive awareness of HSE regulations applicable to offshore and industrial projects.
