Job Overview

This role involves preparing ingredients by portioning, chopping, peeling, washing fresh produce, weighing, measuring, and mixing components. The candidate will prepare and cook food following recipes, quality and presentation standards, and complete food preparation checklists. Responsibilities include preparing cold dishes, operating kitchen appliances (ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers), ensuring foods are adequately cooked, and monitoring food quality throughout the process.

Workstation and Sanitation

The position requires setting up and breaking down the workstation, serving food in proper portions and appropriate containers, as well as cleaning and disinfecting kitchen areas, tools, knives, and equipment. Monitoring and verifying appliance and food temperatures is part of maintaining standards.

Compliance and Safety

All employees must adhere to company and safety policies, report maintenance needs or unsafe conditions, complete safety trainings, and maintain professional appearance and confidentiality. Communication should be clear and professional while fostering positive workplace relationships and teamwork. Physical abilities required include standing, sitting, or walking for long periods, bending, twisting, lifting, carrying, and moving objects up to 25 pounds without help. Additional tasks may be assigned by supervisors as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
• At least one year of relevant work experience
• No supervisory experience required
• No specific licenses or certifications necessary
