Job Overview

JW Marriott in Singapore is seeking a dedicated Commis II to join their culinary team. This full-time, non-management position requires hands-on food preparation including ingredient portioning, chopping, and storage. The role involves preparing and cooking food to meet quality and presentation standards, operating kitchen appliances, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring, and mixing.
• Cook and prepare food items according to recipes and quality standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test food to ensure proper cooking and maintain food quality during preparation.
• Set up and dismantle workstations efficiently.
• Serve food in correct portions and on appropriate containers.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, equipment, tools, and knives.
• Check appliance and food temperatures to ensure safety compliance.
• Adhere to company safety and security policies, report hazards and incidents promptly.
• Maintain a professional and clean personal appearance.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and support team collaboration.
• Handle physical demands such as standing, sitting, walking for long periods, and lifting items up to 25 pounds.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of relevant work experience in food preparation.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific licenses or certifications required.
