Job Overview

The Commis 2 role at JW Marriott involves preparing ingredients such as portioning, chopping, and storing food items. Tasks include washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, accurately weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, and cooking food following recipes and quality standards. The position requires operating kitchen appliances like ovens, grills, microwaves, and fryers, and preparing cold dishes. Maintaining food quality by testing readiness and ensuring proper food temperature is essential.

Key Duties

• Set up and clean workstations before and after shifts.
• Serve food in appropriate portions using correct receptacles.
• Clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives, and equipment diligently.
• Adhere to safety guidelines, report hazards or incidents, and complete necessary safety training.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance and confidentially manage proprietary information.
• Communicate clearly and maintain positive teamwork for common goal achievement.
• Stand or move throughout extended shifts; perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting objects up to 25 pounds without assistance, stooping, and other manual tasks.
• Perform additional reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Minimum educational requirement: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of related culinary or food preparation experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific licenses or certifications needed.
