Role Summary

The Commercial Pricing Analyst will play a pivotal role in guiding pricing and profitability strategies across the lending portfolio. Responsibilities include constructing and refining pricing models, tracking competitor activity, and translating market data into actionable insights that shape Plenti's competitive positioning. The analyst will also partake in the formation and optimization of pricing tactics, leverage data analytics to spot opportunities, evaluate outcomes, and back commercial decisions. Additionally, this role provides strategic support for business cases and investment proposals targeting senior leadership exposure.

Key Duties

• Assist in developing and executing pricing strategies for various lending channels.
• Create, maintain, and enhance sophisticated analytical pricing models using statistical, database, and AI technologies.
• Continuously monitor market trends and competitor actions, evaluating potential effects on pricing, sales volume, and profit margins.
• Design and assess pricing experiments utilizing retrospective analyses to determine effectiveness and reasons for performance.
• Contribute to refining pricing processes and governance, preparing insights and recommendations for relevant forums.
• Provide analytical support for business cases, investment appraisals, and other commercial evaluations for senior executives.
• Identify and act on opportunities to boost pricing effectiveness, portfolio profitability, and data-driven decision-making through experimental approaches.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will demonstrate a robust analytical mindset, sound commercial acumen, and proficiency in transforming complex data sets into clear, strategic insights. Effective communication skills, stakeholder relationship-building capabilities, and confidence in challenging conventional assumptions to foster improved commercial outcomes are essential.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• At least 2 years' experience in pricing, commercial analytics, or a related analytical function.
• A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, STEM, or an allied quantitative subject.
• Advanced financial modeling expertise including strong proficiency in Excel.
• Experienced with SQL, developing reports, and dashboards using business intelligence tools; familiarity with Databricks is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Practical knowledge of AI tools like Claude for data analysis, reporting, and process enhancement, along with critical evaluation of AI outputs.
• Exposure to product or portfolio profitability assessments, preferably within the financial services sector.
• Exceptional presentation skills capable of conveying intricate analyses effectively.
