Job description

About LegalVision

LegalVision is an innovative law firm disrupting the commercial legal services sector by combining custom-built technology with expert legal support. Operating rapidly across Australia, the UK, and New Zealand, the firm offers transparent pricing, complex legal work exposure, and rewarding career opportunities. Recognised as a 5 Star Employer of Choice, a Top 25 Attraction Firm, and Law Firm of the Year, LegalVision fosters growth and professional development.

Role Overview

We seek a seasoned commercial litigation lawyer to join our team, focusing on supporting and expanding our membership client base. Unlike traditional roles, this position does not include billable hour targets. Instead, success is measured by the quality of legal advice, client impact, and fostering solid client relationships. The role suits lawyers who thrive on solving problems, mentoring juniors, and collaborating without conventional private practice pressures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with your team to assist members with a diverse range of commercial disputes.
  • Offer strategic legal advice on complex or high-stakes cases.
  • Manage and coordinate subsequent legal actions for members.
  • Ensure proper scoping, prioritisation, and progression of legal matters.
  • Support and mentor junior lawyers in their development.
  • Act as a reliable advisor helping members navigate legal challenges as their businesses evolve.
  • Work closely with other LegalVision teams to deliver unified client solutions.
  • Identify and propose enhancements to improve the membership experience and value.

Dispute Areas Covered

  • Shareholder and director conflicts.
  • Disputes involving general commercial contracts.
  • Leasing, franchising, construction, and employment disagreements.
  • Copyright and intellectual property infringement cases.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Australian-qualified lawyer with a minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience in commercial dispute resolution within private practice.
  • Strong abilities in managing client relationships, clearly explaining complex legal issues, and building trust.
  • Experience advising on litigation strategies, assessing case viability, and assisting with cost and budget preparation.
  • Keen interest in applying technical legal expertise in a commercially focused role.

Benefits and Perks

  • Opportunity to shape and contribute significantly to LegalVision’s growth in a unique capacity.
  • Generous leave entitlements including up to 25 days paid annual leave, additional days after two years, birthday, parental, and volunteering leave.
  • Annual professional development budget.
  • Social events such as team lunches, drinks, and regular gatherings.
  • Work in a vibrant Surry Hills office located near Central Station or opt for flexible remote work arrangements from anywhere in Australia.

Additional Information

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis; early submission is encouraged. Please note, unsolicited CVs from recruiters will not be entertained and no related fees will be accepted by LegalVision.
