Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for dedicated and dependable individuals to join our Waste Services team as Collection Operatives. The positions are based at Ty Glantaf (Treforest), Ty Amgen (Llwydcoed), and Dinas Depot (Porth) to support waste and recycling collection across Rhondda Cynon Taf. This role involves working outdoors in all weather and requires a strong focus on health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect various types of waste, including refuse, recycling, and food waste from homes and businesses.
- Operate effectively and safely as a member of the collection crew.
- Support drivers by aiding with vehicle movement and safe handling.
- Deliver excellent customer service during interactions with the public and commercial clients.
- Ensure compliance with Council policies and procedures in all duties.
- Report any problems, incidents, or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
Candidate Profile
- Dependable and punctual with a strong commitment to quality service.
- Physically capable of handling demanding manual tasks.
- A team player with a positive outlook on health and safety standards.
- Prior experience in waste collection or similar fields is advantageous but not required; full training will be provided.
Work Schedule
- 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
- May include working on bank holidays such as Christmas and New Year depending on service needs.
