Role Overview
As a CNC Programmer reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor, your responsibilities include developing and implementing machining procedures, coordinating with other departments to meet project objectives within budget, while embodying the company's vision and entrepreneurial culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret engineering blueprints, drawings, charts, and tables accurately.
- Program CNC milling machines, lathes, and routers utilizing Mastercam software.
- Develop 3D machining programs from surface and solid models.
- Perform 4th and 5th axis programming on CNC mills.
- Handle live tooling and 4-axis lathe programming.
- Construct detailed process sheets to manage material flow.
- Set up and fine-tune production machinery.
- Assemble components and machine parts adhering to close tolerances.
- Operate autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate effectively within team settings and actively contribute in safety meetings.
- Demonstrate proficiency in professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Adapt to flexible work schedules and travel requirements as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
- Holder of a General Machinist Certificate of Qualification or possess equivalent experience in automation or manufacturing environments.
- Minimum of seven years experience in custom machining and CNC programming using Mastercam.
- Familiarity with machining weldments, boring mill operations, and Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) is considered a valuable asset.
