Opportunity Overview
We are on the lookout for a skilled CNC Machinist and CNC Programmer who thrives on challenging and tailored machining tasks rather than repetitive production work. This position involves interpreting engineering schematics, programming CNC machines, setting up equipment, and crafting high-quality custom parts across diverse projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop CNC machine programs based on detailed engineering drawings.
- Create and refine CAM software programs to optimize machining processes.
- Set up and operate CNC milling and turning machinery for production.
- Produce precise custom components adhering to stringent tolerance levels.
- Inspect completed parts to ensure quality standards are met.
- Choose suitable tooling and machining methods for each project.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to machining and programming.
- Collaborate with the broader engineering team to achieve excellent results.
- Maintain high standards of workshop safety and cleanliness.
Candidate Profile
- Trade certification in Machining, Fitting & Turning, Toolmaking, or an equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in CNC programming and operation.
- Skilled in both CNC milling and turning techniques.
- Hands-on experience machining engineering plastics, with additional composite and metal machining exposure.
- Capability to accurately interpret engineering drawings.
- In-depth knowledge of machining fundamentals and tolerance requirements.
- Familiarity with CAM software applications.
