CNC Machine Operator

Position Overview

This role is for a CNC Machine Operator working the first shift from Monday to Friday at our facility located at FRC 26 Southern Blvd, Nesconset, NY 11767. The position offers an hourly wage between $22 and $26. The operator will report directly to the Machine Shop Production Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints accurately to guide machine operation.
• Comprehend and moderately modify G and M code programming.
• Adjust wear offsets as necessary for machine precision.
• Change machine tools and correctly enter tool height measurements.
• Prepare and set up machine equipment independently.
• Maintain part production within a tolerance of ±0.010 inches.
• Switch fixtures and determine fixture zero points effectively.
• Adhere to established safe work practices consistently.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machinery.
• Conduct quality inspections on parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measurement tools.
• Pass a basic mathematics proficiency test, including fractions and tape measure reading.
• Handle multiple machines simultaneously.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and workplace regulations.
• Keep the work area and equipment clean and safe, including conducting safety checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience operating machinery is preferred.
• Experience working with CNC machines is advantageous.
