Positioned at NH Collection Dubai The Palm, the Cluster Electrician role involves managing electrical maintenance tasks for both NH Collection Dubai The Palm and Dukes The Palm Dubai Hotel.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections, preventive upkeep, fault diagnosis, and repairs for all electrical systems and equipment in both hotels.
• Promptly address electrical maintenance requests and breakdown issues in guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, restaurants, back-of-house, and offices.
• Identify and fix faults related to lighting, power outlets, distribution boards, switches, circuit breakers, motors, and other electrical apparatus.
• Install and replace electrical components including fixtures, wiring, lighting, switches, and sockets as needed.
• Follow scheduled preventive maintenance plans as per the Engineering Department’s directives.
• Respond swiftly to guest maintenance requests, ensuring minimal disturbance to guests and daily hotel operations.
• Maintain all electrical systems according to safety standards, hotel policies, and UAE legal requirements.
• Regularly check critical electrical infrastructure such as panels, distribution boards, and emergency lighting.
• Support Engineering during emergencies including power outages and equipment malfunctions.
• Assist in energy-saving measures by spotting chances to lower electricity use and enhance equipment performance.
• Keep detailed logs of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and materials utilized.
• Report significant faults, recurring issues, safety hazards, and equipment replacements to supervisors.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and workspace remain safe, orderly, and clean.
• Adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Permit-to-Work, and other health and safety engineering protocols.
• Collaborate efficiently with other Engineering staff and departments across both hotels.
• Coordinate with external contractors ensuring compliance with hotel safety guidelines.
• Maintain stock of frequently used electrical parts and notify supervisors when restocking is necessary.
• Participate actively in trainings, fire and safety drills, and mandatory hotel programs.
• Demonstrate flexibility in working across both properties, including shifts, weekends, holidays, and emergency calls.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Cluster Chief Engineer or management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Technical Diploma, ITI certificate, vocational certification, or similar credentials in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology.
• At least 2 to 3 years experience as an Electrician, preferably within hotel, resort, commercial building, or facilities management settings.
• Experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel in the UAE or GCC region is advantageous.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems including wiring, lighting, distribution boards, motors, and troubleshooting methods.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance and electrical safety practices.
• Awareness of UAE electrical codes and health and safety regulations is a plus.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Competence in using electrical testing tools and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
• Basic computer literacy and experience with maintenance management systems are preferred.
• Good command of English communication skills.
• Capable of independently handling tasks as well as functioning well within a multicultural Engineering team environment.
• Physically fit to carry out technical duties, including work at heights when necessary.
• Willful flexibility to work between both hotel sites as required by operational demands.
