Job description

Role Summary

Talbot Primary School invites applications for the role of Breakfast and After School Assistant to support the popular Talbot Stars Club. The working hours are from 7:20 AM to 8:30 AM and later from 3:10 PM to 5:45 PM, Monday through Friday. The position may be divided into separate morning or afternoon shifts if preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a secure, nurturing, and safe setting to promote the well-being of children.
  • Prepare and maintain an inviting and stimulating environment for children attending the Breakfast and After School Club.
  • Offer appropriate care and engaging activities to support children's development.
  • Assist children in preparing light snacks during club sessions.
  • Adapt methods and activities to meet the varying needs of children and motivate them effectively.
  • Establish and maintain professional, positive relationships with colleagues and children.

Candidate Requirements

  • Prior experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong commitment to child safeguarding, with willingness to undertake Level 3 Safeguarding training.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, discretion, and sensitivity.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member.
