Job Summary

The Cloud Solutions Architect will design and deliver scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The architect will guide organizations through migration, modernization, and optimization of workloads in the cloud by creating architecture strategies, implementing cloud platforms, and supporting DevOps practices for automated, reliable delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive cloud architecture solutions on GCP supporting enterprise workloads and cloud-native apps.
• Lead migration efforts from on-premises or alternative cloud providers using structured migration frameworks and industry best practices.
• Develop DevOps and platform engineering frameworks including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and release processes.
• Craft migration plans utilizing methods like rehosting, replatforming, refactoring, rebuilding, and replacement.
• Design and implement cloud landing zones that comply with security, governance, and compliance standards.
• Architect scalable, resilient infrastructure using GCP services such as Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, Google Kubernetes Engine, and Cloud Run.
• Conduct migration assessments including application discovery, dependency mapping, and migration wave planning.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy Infrastructure-as-Code using tools like Terraform.
• Ensure operational preparedness via monitoring, logging, and adherence to reliability best practices.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance throughout cloud migration and modernization projects.
• Participate in pre-sales activities including architecture workshops and technical proposal development.
• Contribute to developing internal capabilities, best practices, and reusable architectural patterns.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or cloud consultancy.
• Proven experience designing cloud solutions on the Google Cloud Platform.
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification.
• Demonstrated ability to lead enterprise workload migrations to public cloud environments.
• Experience implementing DevOps practices including continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines and infrastructure automation.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure components such as computing, storage, networking, and identity management.
• Familiarity with container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes with preference for Google Kubernetes Engine.
• Experience using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.
• Deep understanding of cloud networking encompassing VPC design, hybrid connectivity, and security controls.
• Excellent communication skills for effectively presenting architectural solutions to both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of cloud network design including disaster recovery strategies, cloud services, and replication methodologies.
• Expertise in core infrastructure services like Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and ADFS.
• Experience with automated infrastructure discovery and application dependency mapping tools.
• Understanding of cloud cost management and optimization including FinOps principles.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies, DevSecOps integration, and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab, and Jenkins.
• Experience with database technologies like Oracle and SAP.
• Additional cloud architecture certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Knowledge of local and international compliance and regulatory standards, including NCA, SAMA, and ISO 27001.
• Prior consulting experience involving client interaction is highly desirable.
• Expertise with monitoring and observability platforms.
• Experience in application modernization and managing containerized workloads.
