Key Responsibilities
- Establish and sustain the cloud security strategy, roadmap, and target architectural state for the organization.
- Develop security reference architectures tailored for AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and hybrid cloud setups.
- Create and enforce cloud security standards, policies, and guardrails consistent with the organization's risk appetite.
- Lead threat modeling, carry out risk assessments, and review security designs for cloud projects.
- Convert regulatory and compliance mandates such as ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2, and PCI into actionable cloud control frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with cloud engineering, DevOps, and platform teams to integrate security into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Promote Zero Trust strategies, identity-first security approaches, and least-privilege access models within cloud environments.
- Define security requirements for cloud-native technologies including services, containers, Kubernetes, and serverless architectures.
- Assess and select tools for cloud security such as Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP), Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management (CIEM), Cloud Workload Protection Platform (CWPP), and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) integrations.
- Provide strategic guidance at an executive level regarding cloud security risks, posture, and investment priorities.
- Serve as the primary escalation contact for complex cloud security design and risk-related decisions.
Candidate Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in information security, including substantial hands-on work with cloud security.
- In-depth expertise with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), with strong preference for multi-cloud experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM), network security, encryption, key management, and logging in cloud contexts.
- Proven track record designing cloud security architectures beyond just tool operation.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code methodologies like Terraform, CloudFormation, and Azure Resource Manager (ARM), and securing CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience aligning security controls to frameworks including NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), ISO 27001, and CIS Benchmarks.
- Ability to clearly explain risks and trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
