Cloud Security Specialist

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Security Specialist to design, enforce, and optimize security measures across Microsoft Azure environments. This role emphasizes safeguarding cloud workloads, identities, endpoints, and sensitive data by leveraging Azure-native security solutions and industry-recognized cloud security standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain Azure security controls, policies, and best practices to protect cloud assets effectively.
• Configure and administer Microsoft security tools such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Defender XDR, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Servers, and Microsoft Sentinel.
• Oversee security monitoring activities including incident investigations, analytics rule creation, workbook management, and response coordination within Microsoft Sentinel.
• Implement robust identity and access management controls utilizing Entra ID, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Conditional Access, and related Azure security services.
• Manage endpoint and device protection through Microsoft Intune administration.
• Set up data protection, governance, and compliance mechanisms with Microsoft Purview.
• Conduct comprehensive cloud security assessments, posture evaluations, vulnerability analyses, and drive remediation efforts.
• Integrate Azure security solutions into Security Operations Center (SOC) procedures, focusing on threat detection and incident response processes.
• Support security auditing initiatives, compliance verification, and maintain thorough cloud security documentation.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• At least 6 years of hands-on experience in cloud security domains.
• Proven expertise with Microsoft Azure security services and practical cloud security operations.
• Competency managing Microsoft security platforms including Defender XDR, Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Purview.
• Strong familiarity with Azure security framework, shared responsibility model, Entra ID, RBAC, and Conditional Access policies.
• Experience in cloud threat detection, managing security incidents, conducting security monitoring, and enhancing security posture.
• Comprehensive knowledge of cloud security best practices and enterprise-grade security controls.
• Possession of certifications such as CCSP, AZ-500, or equivalent Azure security credentials.

Preferred Skills

• Experience securing hybrid cloud setups that combine Azure and on-premises infrastructures.
• Understanding of Azure-specific security technologies like Azure Firewall, Network Security Groups, and Web Application Firewall.
• Automation skills utilizing PowerShell, Azure Functions, or Logic Apps.
• Familiarity with established security frameworks including ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, and SOC 2.
• Experience integrating Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platforms within cloud contexts.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting abilities, and strong documentation practices.
